Gutter
Oh, wow. I'm astonished you got this here.
You came from the Shrine of the Laborers' karma gate, I imagine.
I can't imagine that railway still remains in very good condition.
Anyways, this pearl logs the ailments of Moon's benefactors in reaching the shrine in later years.
I faced similar complaints during my early years.
The shrine was once of great importance.
Moon, Pebbles and myself know it well.
Long ago, our creators tread the earth between here and the coasts of Moon and Pebbles.
Even after Moon's construction, some settlements persisted here on the island outside the reach of her rain.
The shrine was important enough to them to build the first railway connecting the island to their facility.
They used pilgrimage as a means of enticing them off of the surface.
But ultimately her population got to a point where that wasn't feasible.
Pebbles' activation spread the rain to the island and my construction was inevitable.
A few of my citizens still treated the site as a point of pilgrimage.
But the infrastructure had become perilous at that point.
With better railways to Pebbles and Moon, it made less sense to maintain the direct connection to the shrine.
The cavernous underground made construction sites prone to constant flooding.
The railways connected to my port were much easier to maintain.
And those who made pilgrimages to the shrine generally were some of the earlier ascensions.
The shrine railway became insignificant in the end.
I never had to worry too much about complaints.
Thank you for sharing this pearl with me.
It's nice to have the chance to appreciate my history with the local group.
